Enormous changes are underway in
healthcare delivery systems around the world.
In the not-too-distant future, healthcare institutions won't require people to be physically present to receive care. Sensors, mobile devices, telehealth and telemedicine already allow people to engage with these systems from home or wherever they are located.
As usage of these tools increases exponentially, healthcare delivery systems will require radical reinvention to support these changes. And the radical reinvention will not come from technology alone. Technology exists in an ecosystem that includes strategy, process, people, payment models, regulatory issues and other key infrastructure issues.
